Phoenix 99 LEMC: Cabin Dairy Club Night

President’s Blog: Cabin Dairy Bike Night & Looking Ahead 15th September 2026 | The Cabin Dairy, Burnham-on-Crouch Evening all, For this month’s club night, we decided to mix things up a little and head somewhere different, taking a ride down to The Cabin Dairy in Burnham-on-Crouch for their Tuesday bike night. The Ride Down We had a decent little crew heading out, including myself (Pistol – President), Ace (Sergeant), our newest member Baldrick, along with Dan Couse, plus Jerry and Phil from a local HOG chapter, who naturally arrived aboard their Harleys. We started the evening with a meet-up at the Shell garage, where we also caught up with our Quartermaster, Lee Blondini. Lee had Baldrick’s new patches ready to hand over, so we can now get those sorted and get him properly squared away in Phoenix colours. There was, admittedly, a slight breakdown in communication between Lee and me. He headed to RVP1 to meet me while I was making my way towards RVP3… which, rather helpfully, was actually on the route to RVP1. 😂 Thankfully, he managed to track me down and all was well in the end. We eventually set off at around 5pm. Traffic was fairly heavy, so progress towards Burnham was slower than we’d have liked. Judging by the amount of traffic heading the same way, the famous Burnham Bends were clearly proving popular that evening. Still, we all arrived safe and sound, which is the important bit. The Cabin Dairy The Cabin Dairy turned out to be an absolutely cracking little venue. The team there couldn’t have been more welcoming or accommodating. They made us feel right at home, took a genuine interest in the club and even invited us back, so I’m fairly certain this won’t be our last visit. It was a quieter club night for us in terms of numbers, with our Vice President unfortunately unable to make it due to a work leaving do, but sometimes the smaller meets are just as enjoyable. We spent a good couple of hours chatting, laughing and generally chewing the fat. Naturally, food was involved. I went for the Cabin Dairy burger, a Coke and a cup of tea, and the whole lot came to just over a tenner. The burger was spot on, the price was more than reasonable and I certainly wasn’t complaining. While we were there, we also got chatting to a lady called Sam, a first responder nurse, who noticed the Phoenix patch and became interested in what the club is all about. After hearing a bit more about us, she has since joined our recruitment group to get a feel for how we operate and potentially join the ranks in future. That’s one of the things I really enjoy about getting the club out and about — you never know who you’re going to meet or where a conversation might lead. Schoolboy Error… There was a really decent turnout of bikes at the event. Unfortunately, despite attending an actual bike night, we somehow managed to take precisely zero photographs of the bikes. Absolute schoolboy error. 😂 We did at least remember to take a group photo, but next time we’ll make sure somebody is actually tasked with photographing the machinery as well! All in all, it was a cracking couple of hours out with good company, good food and a very welcoming venue. I’d happily head back to The Cabin Dairy again. Looking Ahead Next up for Phoenix 99 is the Lost Saints Ride on Sunday 27th September. We’ll be meeting at the Ace Cafe before riding down to the UK Police Memorial on The Mall. It’ll be our first time riding alongside the Lost Saints, and it promises to be a very different sort of ride from our usual club outings.
