Phoenix 99 LEMC: Canvey Island Community Fayre

Phoenix 99 Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club had a fantastic day at the Canvey Island Community Fayre, and we'd like to say a huge thank you to Tracey and the organising team for inviting us. Tracey was genuinely excited to have us attending, and it was great to be part of such a well-supported community event. The day started with our Vice President, Smasher, alongside his wife and son, helping to get everything set up ready for the crowds. Our Pit Stop Challenge proved to be a real hit throughout the day, with plenty of children and adults testing themselves to see who could get their motorcycle kit on the fastest. Our children's competition for a £30 Smyths Toys voucher produced a brilliant story. Young Carter was determined to win and kept coming back throughout the day after being knocked off the top spot. His persistence paid off in the end as he claimed first place – a well-deserved victory! The adult competition saw Daniel take home a £40 Kawasaki Ilford voucher, which was very kindly donated for the event. We'd like to extend our thanks to Kawasaki Ilford for their generosity and support. Around 11:30, Dave and Jerry arrived to reinforce the Phoenix 99 team, turning plenty of heads as the distinctive sounds of a Kawasaki and a Harley-Davidson announced their arrival in true biker style. The event wasn't just about the games. We had some fantastic conversations with members of the public, met several potential new members, and handed out plenty of Phoenix 99 business cards. It's always encouraging to meet people who share our passion for motorcycles, friendship and supporting our communities. Thanks to everyone's generosity, Phoenix 99 raised £34.98 on the day. Combined with other fundraising, this formed part of an overall £300 donation that has been made to Nottingham Blood Bikes, helping to support the incredible voluntary work they carry out. Of course, no summer event would be complete without a little mishap. Despite reminding everyone else about sun cream, Smasher somehow managed to return home sporting a rather impressive sunburnt receding hairline—a lesson has definitely been learned for next time! Thank you once again to Tracey and everyone involved in organising the Canvey Island Community Fayre for making us feel so welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed the day, met some fantastic people, and are already looking forward to attending again in the future.
