Phoenix 99 LEMC: Official Launch
On a very wet Saturday 7th February, the Founders of Phoenix 99 LEMC, met at Rossi’s Cafe in Westcliff-on-Sea to officially launch P99. It hadn’t started well with our Photographer having to bail due to personal circumstances for which we wish him well, and the rain started as soon as we all left home. Blondini and Smasher arrived dead on the meet time, like synchronised Swans, however we had to await the arrival of our President. The President who is an advanced driver and response motorcyclist finally showed his face, however his sense of direction caused some confusion to the traffic he had caused behind him. That said, he finally found his way to us and parked up, however he struggled slightly with that too… Anyway, I digress. After finalising the rules and some much needed admin, P99 operations was made official. We’ve worked incredibly hard since July last year to make sure this club will succeed and so seeing it as official was a massive relief. After a bit of an argument over linking our Cardo headsets, we made our way to a spot Lee had found for our Cut Photos. Unfortunately I think the whole of Shoeburyness had heard of our photoshoot and came out to see us. Lee also then had to deal with the embarrassment of bumping into an old friend as he posed in his new cut. That said, we collared a few passers-by to take our photos so that we could finalise our website and socials. We now officially have 11 members and we are looking forward to our new chapter and getting some rides in the diary! Thank you for all your support and for joining us on our new venture! VP The Kurviger App provided a great route with some incredible scenery, though we’ll likely cap the "heavy gear change" sections to 90 minutes next time to save our clutch hands from seizing up!
