Phoenix 99 LEMC: Orford Castle Rideout
What an absolutely cracking day out today for for the club. VP Smasher absolutely smashed it out of the park, organising, running, and leading a flawless route. We couldn't have asked for better weather, properly glorious, hot summer sunshine and the scenic Suffolk roads were beautifully flowing. Our destination was the historic Orford Castle, a magnificent 12th-century royal fortress built by Henry II. With its unique polygonal tower keep, it made the absolute perfect backdrop for a brilliant club photo opportunity. The group stopped off at the local Jolly Sailor Public House in Orford. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the refreshments well received. Although the burger was a bit more pricey than anticipated, it was well worth the money as it was delicious. We will certainly stop by again if we head for Suffolk again. A massive shoutout to James Bull and John Reynolds, who joined us for the ride out today. It was fantastic having you both along for the miles, and you are welcome on our runs anytime. We also had the return of Dan Couse riding with us with some exciting news on the horizon. All in all, we clocked up over 200 miles today. A brilliant turnout, top tier company, and a fantastic day on two wheels. We will be hosting our monthly get together on Tuesday 2nd June at Harold Wood Neighbourhood Centre, Gubbins Lane, Romford, RM3 0QA. Doors open at 19:30. If you are free and fancy meeting the group, feel free to join us. — Phoenix99 LE MC President
